Kaivalya Education Foundation and ELMS Sports Foundation come together to explore Quality Physical Literacy in Schools
On 21st and 22nd of September, 2018, team members from Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF), Kapadwanj Kelavani Mandal (KKM), and ELMS Sports Foundation (ELMS) came together to discuss the urgent need for focussing on improving the quality of Physical Literacy in schools.This workshop was held at KEF’s office in Nadiad, Gujarat.
KEF is a social change organization working in the field of education in India started in 2008. KEF’s vision is to support transformation of government schools in India into high performing environments for children by developing principals of these schools into empathetic, pro-active and skilled educational practitioners. To this end, KEF’s interventions focus on providing leadership training to school principals.
Since its inception in 1940, KKM has been making outstanding efforts in establishing a healthy educational and medical environment in Kapadwanj, Gujarat.
At this workshop, the team from ELMS shared their vision of “Physical Literacy” [PL] and its role in education system, potential synergies for all three organizations to work together, by collaborating on a plan to implement quality Physical Literacy in schools.
The organisations will come together to form a working committee that will lead the implementation of the project in Kheda District of Gujarat. The committee will start with conducting an on ground survey of the schools that will help shape the program specific to the area.
